A block from the courts in a "somewhat sketchy" neighborhood with "not a lot going on", this "affordable upscale" entry with a "friendly staff" partially overcomes its surroundings thanks to a good-looking lobby, a "pool area that's amazing for this type of hotel" and rooms outfitted with "modern, new" furniture, "really heavenly" beds, Neutrogena products, "superior towels" and free Internet; N.B. there's no on-site restaurant here, but room service is available from local eateries.

The location and staff was friendly and attentive.
Upon arrival to my room, I turned the bathroom faucet and brown water began to run. Other than that time the water was clear.

The only thing I liked was the comfort of the bed after I replaced the linen and bedspread with my own.
This Hotel does not deserve a three star rating. I am being very generous by rating it a two star.

The Priceline price and the cookies.
The room was too warm, the thermostat did not work.
I visited the other hotels in the area and they were more comfortable than this hotel. They were worth the rating.

The staff was very accommodating. We had to ask to be moved to another room because of pool fumes and was moved.
The fumes from the pool was extremely high in our first room. We had to ask to be moved to another, more fume friendly room.
This hotel is located in a great location for both downtown River side, and to Winterthur, were we were interested in going. The first night we were in a room that was getting maximum fumes from the chlorinated pool. We asked to be moved the next morning, and we were graciously accommodated. We couldn't figure out the restaurant service; there only seemed to be service in the bar, but we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. ...read more
